AI-Powered SEOBe the answer AI gives.
Search is splitting in two. Google’s AI Overviews answer before anyone clicks, and people now ask ChatGPT and Perplexity the questions they used to type into a search box. AI-powered SEO makes your business the answer those engines give.
What is AI SEO (answer engine optimization)?
AI SEO — also called answer-engine optimization (AEO) or generative engine optimization (GEO) — is the practice of structuring content so AI systems like Google's AI Overviews, ChatGPT, and Perplexity cite your business when they answer questions. It builds on classic SEO with quotable answers, entity clarity, and structured data.
Ranking got you on the map. Being the answer gets you the sighting. The fundamentals — a crawlable site, credible content — still decide who gets to play, which is why AI SEO sits on top of technical SEO, never instead of it.
How do you optimize for zero-click and conversational search?
Zero-click optimization competes for the answer itself rather than only the click: question-formatted headings, a self-contained 40-to-60-word direct answer under each one, consistent entity descriptions, and schema markup. Conversational search rewards the same structure, because an AI engine assembling an answer quotes the clearest complete block it can find.
That formatting isn’t a stylistic tic — it’s how retrieval works. Engines pull passages, not pages. A paragraph that fully answers one question, with your name attached, is a passage worth pulling.
What makes an AI engine actually cite a business?
AI engines cite sources that are easy to quote and safe to trust: pages that answer specific questions directly, a business described identically everywhere it appears (entity clarity), structured data confirming who and where you are, and mentions on other credible sites. There is no secret handshake — clarity compounds.
We also publish an llms.txt file for clients — a plain-text summary of who you are and what you offer, readable by AI crawlers (here’s ours). It’s a transparency artifact, not a ranking factor, and nobody credible should sell it as one. It costs nearly nothing and removes ambiguity, which is the entire game.
This site is built exactly the way we’re describing — question-form headings, quotable answers, schema on every page, its own llms.txt — and we publish our own measurements on the Tracking the Sasquatch page. We track ourselves the way we’d track you.

How we work
Four steps, run on repeat, every deliverable logged where you can see it.
- Step 01
Research the questions
AI-driven research surfaces what people actually ask engines in your category — longer, more conversational, and more specific than classic keyword lists.
- Step 02
Restructure the answers
Key pages are rebuilt into question-and-answer architecture: direct answers an engine can lift verbatim, with your business entity attached to every one.
- Step 03
Publish the signals
Schema markup, consistent entity descriptions, and llms.txt go live — every machine-readable signal saying the same thing about you.
- Step 04
Measure the mentions
The monthly AI Visibility Report tracks where AI engines mention you and how that changes over time. Trends you can check, not cherry-picked chat screenshots.

Questions from the trail
Is AI SEO different from traditional SEO?
It's an extension, not a replacement. AI engines learn from the same crawled web that search engines rank, so technical health and genuinely useful content still come first. AI SEO adds a layer on top: quotable answer formatting, entity clarity, and monthly measurement of whether engines actually cite you.
Does llms.txt improve my rankings?
No — and be wary of anyone who says otherwise. llms.txt is a transparency artifact: a plain-text summary of your business that AI crawlers can read, not a ranking factor for Google or any answer engine. We publish one because it's a cheap, honest way to state exactly who you are.
Can you guarantee my business shows up in ChatGPT or AI Overviews?
No, and nobody honestly can — AI engines don't publish their selection criteria and change without notice. What we do is make your content maximally citable, publish every machine-readable signal correctly, and measure your mentions monthly so you can see the trend. We hold our own site to the same test, in public.
